Scope of work
What is included and what is not
Included
- Crawling: page accessibility, response codes, redirect chains, broken links.
- Indexing: which pages should and should not be in the index, robots.txt, meta robots.
- Canonical tags and duplicate pages.
- The sitemap and how well it matches the actual site structure.
- Internal architecture: section depth and how sections are connected.
- Structured data: correctness of schema.org markup.
- Performance issues that get in the way of crawling and indexing.
- Technical regressions after releases and changes to the site.
Not included
- New feature development and redesign.
- Site speed optimization as a separate development project: we define the SEO requirements, but we do not take on code or server work.
- Hosting and server administration.
Approach
How we check your site
For technical checks we use our own crawler: it goes through the pages of your site and analyzes the source HTML — response codes, meta tags, canonical tags, links, markup.
We compare the state of the site before and after changes to catch errors and losses. This shows not only the current issues, but also what changed after the latest release.
Every finding comes with an explanation: what is wrong, what it affects and what to do.
Deliverables
What you get
A list of technical issues
With priorities: what is critical for indexing and what can be fixed later.
Fix descriptions
What to change and how, in a form a developer can act on.
Post-fix verification
A repeat crawl and comparison with the original state: what has been fixed and whether any new errors have appeared.
Process
How we work
01
Crawl and diagnostics
We crawl the site and check indexing, technical files and markup.
02
Priorities and tasks
We turn the findings into a task list: from issues critical for indexing to improvements.
03
Fix verification
After implementation we repeat the crawl and compare the result with the original state.
When to use it
When you need it
- after a migration, redesign or CMS change;
- pages drop out of the index or never get into it;
- the index contains many duplicate or technical pages;
- things break on the site after releases, and nobody notices right away.
What to know in advance
- The crawler analyzes the source HTML of pages. If content is rendered only via JavaScript, this requires a separate review.
- Page load speed depends on the server, the code and third-party scripts: we find SEO-relevant issues, but we do not promise specific metric values.
- Changes to robots.txt, canonical tags and redirects on the live site are made only after approval.
- Technical SEO removes obstacles for search, but on its own it does not guarantee higher rankings.
